Not investment advice

Breakeven is a calculator and tracking tool. It shows facts about your own holdings, such as the price at which a sale would cover every fee, and it emails you when prices reach levels you choose. It does not recommend buying, selling or holding any security, and nothing on Breakeven is investment advice. Breakeven is not licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ghana as an investment adviser.

Decisions to buy or sell are yours. If you need advice, speak to a licensed investment adviser.

No trading, no custody

Breakeven never places trades, never connects to your brokerage account and never holds your money or shares. It only works with the figures you give it, by uploading a statement or entering trades by hand.

Fees

Breakeven calculates fees from the rate card published by your broker (today, IC Securities on the Ghana Stock Exchange): statutory levies and brokerage, each rounded to the pesewa as on a Contract Note. Rates can change. Your broker's Contract Note is always the final record of what you were charged. When you import a statement, Breakeven records the charges shown on it.

Prices

Closing prices are collected after each trading day, and alerts are also checked every 15 minutes during trading against the last trade. Prices can be late, missing or wrong. The official close can differ from a trade during the day, so a level reached during the day can be lost by the close.

Estimates

When a statement doesn't include the trades for shares you already held, Breakeven costs them at the statement's average cost and labels them as an estimate. Figures that depend on them are estimates too.

Not affiliated

Breakeven is independent. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, IC Securities, the Ghana Stock Exchange or any regulator. Names are used only to describe the statements and fees Breakeven works with.
