Your statement is never saved
We read the PDF in memory to pick out your trades, then it's gone. It's never written to our disk, not even for a moment.
We can't touch your money
We never ask for your broker login or password. Breakeven can't place trades, move money or see your broker account.

No ads, no tracking cookies, no selling or sharing your information for marketing. Ever.
Delete means delete
Delete a holding or your whole account and it's erased for good, backups included. Nothing is kept "just in case".
Your questions, answered
Is my statement stored on your servers?
No. When you upload a statement, our server reads it in memory, picks out the trades and holdings, and discards it. The file is never written to disk or to our database, and it isn't in our backups. Uploading again later only adds trades we don't already have.
What do you actually keep?
Your email, an optional name, your password as a one-way hash (nobody can read it, including us), the trades and holdings you choose to track, your dividends and alerts, and the devices you're signed in on. We don't keep the name, address or account number on your statement. To stop the free plan being claimed twice for one brokerage account, we keep a one-way fingerprint of the account number that can't be turned back into it.
Could my data leak or become public?
Your holdings are private to your account: nobody else can see them, and nothing is ever published. Every connection is encrypted (HTTPS), our server only accepts traffic through Cloudflare's protection, sign-in has bot checks and limits on wrong passwords, and you can see every device signed in to your account in Settings and sign any of them out. Because we never keep your statement, your name, address or account number, there's far less that could ever leak.
Who at Breakeven can see my account?
Only our support team, and only to help you, for example when you write in about an import. Every time staff open a customer's details, it's recorded with who and when. Staff can never see your password.
Will you use my data for anything else?
No. We use it to calculate your break-even, targets and fees, to send the emails you ask for, and to keep the service fair. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we don't give it to brokers or anyone else.
What happens when I delete something?
A holding you delete (with its trades, dividends and alerts) is removed from your account straight away, and from our backups within 15 days. When you delete your account, you're signed out and alerts stop at once; after 30 days (time to change your mind) everything is erased for good, and our nightly backups roll over within 15 days after that. The only thing kept is the anonymous fingerprint that stops the free plan being claimed again.
Where is my data?
On our own servers in the European Union (Germany), under strict data-protection law. Emails go out through a transactional email provider, and Cloudflare protects the website and runs the bot check. They only process data to provide those services to us. The full list is in our privacy policy.
Does this work the same for every broker?
Yes. We support IC Securities today and are adding more Ghanaian brokers and investment apps. Whichever one you use, the same rules apply: we never ask for your login, never keep your statement and never sell your data.
