Short answer
The report lists every sale you made in a calendar year with its gain or loss after all buying and selling charges, worked out at average cost, plus the dividends you received. You can download it as CSV or print it. It's on Pro and Premium.
Open Reports in the app and choose a year. For every sale in that year the report shows the shares sold, what the sale brought in after selling charges, what those shares cost including buying charges, and the gain or loss between the two. The year's totals are at the top.
Average cost
When you sell only part of a holding, the cost of the shares you sold is their share of the holding's total cost, fees included: the average cost per share times the shares sold. The rest of the cost stays with the shares you still hold.
An example
| Buy 125 MTN Ghana at GHS 6.50 | GHS 830.78, charges included |
| Sell 125 at GHS 8.16 | GHS 997.05, after charges |
| Gain after all charges | GHS 166.27 |
The price rose by GHS 1.66 a share, GHS 207.50 on 125 shares, but GHS 41.23 of that went on charges for the buy and the sale.
Dividends
The dividends you recorded as received during the year are listed in their own section, so you can see income alongside your gains and losses.
CSV and print
Download the report as a CSV file to open in a spreadsheet, or print it. You can also download every trade and your holdings as CSV.
For your records, not tax advice
The report sets out the figures from the trades and dividends you've recorded. It isn't tax advice; check with a tax adviser or the Ghana Revenue Authority how they apply to you.
